Registration Tips

We anticipate this race to sell out again this year.  In order to make registration go quickly and easily for you, we recommend the following:

  1. Set up a profile on Bikereg.com ahead of time so your info is already in the system.
  2. Duo registrants – please have both racers' info ready and on hand to complete registration. You will need one credit card to finalize, but both registrants' info to finalize your registration.
  3. King + Queen of the Boat – when you register for these categories, you will automatically be placed in the Pro/Open MTB race for either men or women. Even if you aren’t a pro level rider, you are a pro for taking on the challenge.

Course Changes

We reserve the right to alter the race course at any time up until race day but we promise it will still be a hard and fun day in the saddle or on foot! A rain cancellation is a possibility as well.  The City of Steamboat Springs has final say on race day conditions. Slick mud on Howelsen Hill is not good for riding or for trail health.

Cancellation Policy

Earthquake, rain, plague, locusts, pandemic, etc. policy: sometimes there are just things beyond mortal control. Depending upon our options and conditions at the time of the event we reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule the event. In the event that this race can't occur due to longer-reaching recommendations on large events and gatherings, we reserve the right to transition the entire event to a virtual platform. Our team understands this is an uncertain time and appreciates your patience and support moving forward.

COVID-19 Statement

While we understand that there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 but we remain optimistic that we will be able to host an in-person race event. While our focus remains on producing a premier mountain bike and trail running race experience, we are constantly monitoring all National, State, and Local Public Health Guidelines. We are developing strategies to ensure that our event is safe for our athletes, staff, and volunteers!  If you have questions, contact racedirector@emeraldmtnepic

Transfer & Waitlist Policy

If you are not able to race, please see our refund policy.  We anticipate selling out our event with a wait list.  At the time of your cancellation, you will be given a refund, if applicable.  If there is a waitlist, we cannot transfer your registration to someone else at your request.  Instead, the next person in line on the waitlist will receive an entry.
This also means the following requests will not be accommodated:
      • Transferring from Solo to Duo or vice versa.
      • Transferring from running race to mountain bike race or vice versa.

Refund Policy

Before July 1st: Full entry fee reimbursement
July 1st - July 31st: 50% of entry fee reimbursement (applies to cancellations and changes)
After July 31st: No reimbursements or registration changes will be allowed
